Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 4, 2026
Wallot is built to need as little of your data as possible. There are no accounts, no ads, no data brokers, and we never sell anything about you to anyone.
What we collect
- An anonymous device identifier. A random ID generated on your device the first time the app runs. It is not your name, email, phone number, or advertising ID, and we cannot link it to you.
- Usage counters. How many scans, company lookups, and research requests that anonymous ID has used — this is how free limits and subscription allowances work.
- Subscription status. If you subscribe, Apple or Google processes the payment and our billing partner RevenueCat tells us only that the anonymous ID has an active subscription and when it expires. We never see your payment details, name, or store account.
- Barcodes you scan. The barcode digits are sent to our server and looked up against the Open Food Facts product database to identify the product. Barcodes identify products, not people.
What we don't collect
- No name, email address, or account — the app works without signing in.
- No location tracking, no contacts, no advertising identifiers, no analytics SDKs.
- Camera frames are processed on your device only to read the barcode; photos are never uploaded.
The public record is about companies, not you
When a company is researched, our system reads publicly available sources (court records, regulatory actions, news reporting) using Anthropic's Claude API and stores the results as a public dossier about the company. Your scan may trigger that research, but nothing about you is part of the record.
Service providers
- RevenueCat — subscription status processing.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing, under their own privacy policies.
- Open Food Facts — public product database used for barcode lookups.
- Anthropic — AI research over public sources about companies (no user data is sent).
Deleting your data
In the app: Account → Delete My Data permanently removes your anonymous ID, usage history, and subscription record from our server. Or email vexionsystems@gmail.com and we'll do it within 48 hours. See Delete my data for details. Deleting data does not cancel an active subscription — manage that in your app store settings.
Children
Wallot is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and note it in the app.
